HITCHCOCK - Mrs. Iris Lee Simpson passed from this life Tuesday morning, September 10, 2024, in League City.
Born September 4, 1945, in Uvalde, Texas, Mrs. Simpson had been a resident of Hitchcock since 1977, previously of Llano. She was a beautician at the Hair Hut for over 26 years. Iris was a creative soul who found joy in quilting and candle making. Whether crafting intricate quilts that were as warm as they were beautiful or pouring candles that filled the home with soft light, she expressed her love through the things she made.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Valerie (Brewer) Hamerick; husband, C. L. Simpson; son, Lloyd Ray Simpson; sister, Charlene Cox.
Survivors include her daughters, Annette Barham and husband, Tommy, Tammy Simpson all of Hitchcock; sisters, Sis Nance of Brackettville, Maxine Light of Kerrville; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Huffman Cemetery, in Llano with Mr. Keith Simpson officiating.
