SANTA FE – Janice Marie Hamel, 74, passed from this life Tuesday evening, February 7, 2023, at her home in Santa Fe, TX.  

Janice was born November 18, 1948, in San Francisco, California. She moved to Santa Fe, Texas in the mid 90’s where she resided for many years. She worked at Wal-Mart for 20+ years, gaining many fun-loving friends along the way.

She is survived by her brother, Daniel Burke, Jr.; daughter, Christle Hamel: best friend, Lisa Carr; her fur baby, Pumpkin and many other friends and loved ones.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2023, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501.
