Jesse Maria Bergara

Jesse Maria Bergara, a lifelong resident of Santa Fe, Texas, passed away Saturday evening, April 11, 2026, surrounded by those who loved him most.

Born December 15, 1976, in Galveston, TX, Jesse worked as an industrial blaster and painter for over 20 years, lending his skills to numerous companies throughout his career. He took pride in his work and was respected by coworkers for his reliability, dedication, and willingness to help wherever needed.

Outside of work, Jesse enjoyed spending time working on cars. Whether he was fixing something up, tinkering in the garage, or helping a friend, he found satisfaction in working with his hands. He also had a passion for tug boating and took pride in time spent on the water. Painting and sandblasting were skills he developed over the years, and he took great satisfaction in a job well done. He was always there to help others — whether it was lending a hand, sharing his knowledge, or simply showing up when someone needed him most.

Jesse will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his love for mechanics, and the deep bond he shared with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Edward and Cleotilde (Bergara) Dunn; Luciano and Delores (Garcia) Bergara.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Kerry Bergara; sons, Tristan Bergara, Daniel Bergara; daughter, Brooklyn Bergara; sister, Janie Watkins-Dunn; half-brothers and sisters, Jessica Garcia, Yolanda Garcia, Michelle Ramirez, Rueben Barbralena, Joe Bergara, and Brandy Bergara.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 16, 2026, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501, with Pastor Joshua McDonald officiating.
