Jimmy R. Schattel

BACLIFF – Mr. Jimmy R. Schattel passed from this life, August 15, 2020, in Dickinson.

Born May 9, 1938, in Galveston, Texas, to Emil and Anna (Westinghausen) Schattel, he had lived in Santa Fe, San Leon and finally settled in Bacliff, Texas. He was a welder/pipefitter by trade and a United States Army veteran from 1961-1963 and the reserves until 1967.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret Schattel; sister, Betty Spencer Black; brothers, Emil Schattel, Michael Schattel, Geraldine Kocurek.

Survivors include his son, Randy Schattel of Santa Fe; daughter, Venita Sheldon of Nassau Bay; and lots of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 12, 2025, at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery, with Pastor Arthur Williams officiating.
