Jimmy Lee Thomas

TEXAS CITY - Mr. Jimmy Lee Thomas passed from this life Wednesday evening, March 8, 2023, in Texas City.

Born October 30, 1948, in Fort Worth, Mr. Thomas had been a resident of Texas City for most of his life. He was a truck driver for over 20 years and enjoyed working on cars, a good bar-b-que and watching the kids play ball.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Randall and Violet (Day) Thomas; wife, Kathy Jo (Bonin) Thomas; son, Kenneth Wayne Socha; brother, Robert Thomas; sister, Beverly Thomas.

Survivors include his son, David Thomas of Texas City; daughters, Wendy Schoen and husband, Billy of Hitchcock, Jamie Thomas of Texas City; brother, David Thomas of La Marque; sister, Pat Saunders and husband, Bobby of La Marque; 5 grandchildren, Kevin Socha, Jade Thomas Hankerson, Jessica Schoen, Kayle Jenia, Kelsey Thomas Willis; 3 great-grandchildren, Athena Hankerson, Armani Hankerson, Kasen Willis.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home, with Bishop Delbert Herrin officiating.

Pallbearers will be David Thomas, Billy Schoen, Duane Frasier, Chet Adams, Cory BeeBee, Joseph Gray, James Schoen and Troy Harvey.
