Joe Allen Hufhines

SANTA FE – Mr. Joe Allen Hufhines passed away at the age of 62 on Monday, October 13, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born February 5, 1963, in Odessa, Texas, Mr. Hufhines was a resident of Santa Fe since 2003, previously of Dickinson. Joe was a devoted family man and skilled electrician, known for his strong work ethic and kind heart, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures — hunting and fishing in the great outdoors, spending cherished time with his family, and sharing his love of cooking, especially when he was at the grill perfecting his barbeque. His warmth and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joel and Dorothy (Whitsitt) Hufhines; nephew, Jimmy Honnoll.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Tonya Hufhines; son, Joe Brandon Hufhines of Santa Fe; daughters, Rachel Rosier and husband, Cody of Winnsboro, Texas, Renee Bickerstaff and husband, Kenny of Santa Fe; sisters, Mary McCauley and husband, Dennis of Jefferson, Rhoda Longoria and husband, Pete of Linden; grandchildren, Angela, Amelia, Emma, Christopher, Kaidence, Catalina, Mason, Tucker, Pamina, Octavia, Declan; great-grandchild, Riverlynne Rose; fur baby, Penelope; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 5:00 p.m., Friday, October 17, 2025, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX, with Mr. Ever Garza officiating.
