SANTA FE - Mr. John Dee Crisp, Sr., passed from this life Monday morning, June 24, 2024, in League City.

Born May 29, 1930, in Bald Prairie, Texas, Mr. Crisp had been a resident of Santa Fe for 30 years, previously of Texas City. He was a member of the Painters Union #585 for over 35 years. He was also a dedicated member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, in Texas City. His commitment to community service and helping others exemplified the values of this esteemed organization, and he was respected and loved by all who had the pleasure of him. Horses held a special place in John's heart, he found immense joy and peace in their company. Trail rides were a favorite pastime, offering a sense of freedom and adventure that he cherished deeply. A true handyman, John took pride in working around the house, his home was a testament to his skill and love for creating a warm, welcoming environment. Above all, John was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He found immense joy in spending time with his family, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Geoge and Maggie (Aman) Crisp; wife, Dorothy Janet (Monroe) Crisp; sisters, Lorrine, Margret, Marie and Earline; brothers, Wayne, G. H., E.C., Eugene; grandson, Tommy Lee Bear.

Survivors include his sons, Kenneth Stephen Crisp of Santa Fe, John Dee Crisp, Jr. and wife, Anita of Lufkin, Myron Lee Crisp of Santa Fe, Garry Edward Crisp and wife, Beth of Spring, Paul Reeves, Sr. of Mobile, Alabama; daughters, Melinda Bullock and husband, Eddie of Texas City, Debbie Ehman of Mobile, Alabama; grandchildren, Jason, Kelly, Matthew, Cody, Brady, Amanda, Costanza, Dalton, Nicholas, Nathan, Miranda, Dustin, Paul, Jr., Brandi, Francesca; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Alexandria, Mariah, Azariah, Dillon, Hayden, Caleb, Ashton, Daniel, Axel, Gunnar, Memphis, Parker, McKinzie; great-great-grandchildren, Cali and Aaliyah; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2024, followed by a funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409)-925-3501, Pastor Jim Daniels officiating.
