DICKINSON – Kathleen McCann passed away at the age of 78 on July 26, 2025, in Dickinson, surrounded by her loving family.
Kathleen was born August 18, 1946, in Galveston at St. Mary’s Hospital along with her twin sister. After High School graduation, she began her 42-year career at American National working her way to a variety of managerial roles. Kathleen was determined to earn her associate’s degree while working her full-time job eventually earning a degree in business. She met Mike McCann and the two tied the knot in 1984, combining their families through the love they shared. Kathleen was a social butterfly. She loved to entertain and be surrounded by family. She also enjoyed playing 31 with her card group and loved getting together with friends for a weekly game of Mahjong. One of her all-time enjoyments was taking her daughters to lunch and shopping – something she started when they were little girls which then became tradition throughout the years. Kathleen had great joy in sharing coffee in the mornings with her son and loved to visit with her neighbors. She and Mike took many trips, including cruises, visiting so many different places not only around the U.S., but also traveling abroad. Kathleen was an amazing cook, loved reading a good mystery novel, and always supported our Houston Astros.
