SANTA FE - Mr. Kenneth E. Hawver was born June 20, 1953 to Herman and Lena Hawver of Ansted, West Virginia.

He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Bonnie Hawver; son, Joshua Hawver and wife, Catie; daughters, Brittany Bland and husband, Matt, Catheryn Schattel; six grandchildren, who were the apple of his eye, Ayleigh, Gus, Camden, Maddie, Jack and Calvin; brother, Harold Hawver and wife, Terry; sister, Karen Shawver and husband, Lee; brothers-in-law, Rick Nutter and wife, Jan, Wayne Nutter and wife, Denise; sister-in-law, Cindy Tate and husband, Don; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews, cousins and friends.

Ken’s greatest love in life was all sports. He won his wife’s heart by making 20 free throws in a row for their first date. He coached Little League and basketball for numerous years. But his greatest love was for the Houston Astros. He lived, ate and breathed every play, yelled at umpires faithfully, supported them through the good and bad and never missed a game! He had been a member of Arcadia First Baptist Church since 1983 and never hesitated on telling you about the Lord.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at Arcadia First Baptist Church, with Pastors Josh McDonald officiating. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Doug Anderson, George Bethune, David Ford, Joey Ford, Frank Lopez and Norman Wood.

Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501.
