Laurinda Whitfield Harbour

SANTA FE - Laurinda Whitfield Harbour, resident of Santa Fe passed from this life on November 16, 2023, after a lengthy illness.  She was born on March 12, 1945, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Louis Gordon and Norma Hall Whitfield.

Laurinda retired from UTMB and loved to sew, crochet, knit and do just about any other crafty stuff.  She volunteered for many years making quilts with the Prayer Quilt Ministry at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, making quilts for hospitalized, terminally ill or are otherwise in need of prayer and comfort.  She was a member of LaMarque Chapter #979, Order of the Eastern Star.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, and husband Donald Harbour. 

She is survived by her brother, Gordon Whitfield and wife Barbara of Houma, Louisiana, daughters, Melinda Hicks, and husband Jay of Santa Fe, Heather Lane of Pasadena and son Melvin E. Herrmann and partner Shannon Hammersly of Daingerfield.  Grandchildren, Candace Harper (Alan), Dallas Hicks (Cindy), Courtney Stults (Clay), Myranda Gilbert (Lewis), Madison Herrmann, Mathew Herrmann, Laura Day (Brandon), Abigail Herrmann, Olivia Lane and her youngest granddaughter Ava Lane who shared her birthday.  Great Grandchildren Sara Hicks, Braxton Stults, Kaitlyn Hicks, Nathan Herrmann, Anakan Trapp and Tobias Trapp and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Dallas Hicks, Alan Harper, Clay Stults, Kris Killian, Ralph Atchison and Darin Lippert.

The family would like to thank Traditions Hospice, especially her nurse Jody and chaplain Mark for their love and care for our mother.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 13217 FM1764, Santa Fe, Texas 77510, visitation will be at 10:00 am with services at 11:00 am.
