HOUSTON - Ms. Lenora Irene Gilmore passed from this life Sunday morning, November 5, 2023, in Houston.

Born July 9, 1937, in Henryetta, OK, Ms. Gilmore had been a longtime resident of Hitchcock, previously of Broken Arrow, OK. She had worked as an accountant for State Farm Life Insurance for 10 years. Lenora attended Abundant Life Christian Church. She loved dogs, especially Yorkie’s, watching football, doing puzzles, eating out and reading, especially her bible.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Vernon and Minnie R. (Kidd) Cope and daughter, Cheryl Dawn Scott.

Survivors include her sons, Mark Gilmore and wife, Teresa, Matthew Gilmore and wife, Jasmine, Joe Scott, Shay Scott and wife, Debra; sister, Vera Anderson and husband, Preston; grandchildren, Nichole Gilmore, Che’ree Vasquez, David Parker; great grandchildren, Joshua, Samuel and Jonathan Vasquez, Aralyn Turner.

Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 9, 2023, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501, with Pastor Howard Bruce officiating.
