Linda Sue Birdsong
PEARLAND – Mrs. Linda Sue Birdsong passed from this life Thursday evening, June 10, 2021, at Memorial Hermann Pearland Hospital.
Born September 30, 1954 in Galveston, Linda (“Susie” to her family) had been a longtime resident of the Syracuse area of New York before moving to Pearland in 2010. She loved working for many years in retail sales at Michael’s and had a “black belt” in shopping. She loved costume jewelry, enjoyed travelling (especially on cruises) and had a heart for stray animals, rescuing as many as she could. Her catchphrase “I Want A Toy” played perfectly into her wonderful sense of humor. She was of the Methodist faith.
Preceded in death by her father, Arnold “Mac” McDaniel, survivors include her husband of 44 years, Larry Birdsong; her sons, Carl Birdsong and wife, Monica, of Beaumont, Mark Wesley Birdsong of Waxahachie; daughter, Karrie Austin of Charleston, South Carolina; her mother, Florence McDaniel and her brother, Harold McDaniel, both of Galveston.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2021, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, Rev. Paul Mieller officiating. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park.
