Linda Darlene (Stephens) Hughes

TEXAS CITY - Mrs. Linda Darlene Hughes passed away from this life Wednesday afternoon, May 15, 2024, in Texas City.

Linda was born on January 28, 1948, in Galveston. Her biggest ambition in life was to be a mom and at the age of 42, her dreams came to fruition. She loved raising her daughter Katie so much that she decided to homeschool. Being a mom was Linda’s favorite job, but she had many others. She worked in the banking industry for a number of years, X-Ray technician and drove 18 wheelers. In her quiet moments, Linda enjoyed reading and watching all things crime related, like court T.V. Linda was a wonderful woman who will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Katherine (Kitchell) Stephens; brothers, William Stephens, Joel Stephens; sister, Carol Cooksey; step-father, Paul Larsen.

Survivors include her daughter, Katie Hughes and significant other, Dwain Collins; nieces, Laura Stephens, Crystal Green, Dawn Roessler; cousins, Dr. Harry Faust, Jr., Maribeth and Michael Dorr, Clifford Reed, Danny Faust, Polly Horany, fur baby, Charlie.

A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
