Lynn Delores (Hiland) Moffett

BACLIFF – Mrs. Lynn Delores Moffett passed away at the age of 76 on January 23, 2025, in Bacliff.

Lynn was born on August 28, 1948, in Maysville, Georgia. Shortly after graduating high school, she proudly served her country upon entering the Untied States Navy. It was there in the Navy that Lynn met John Moffett. The two created a lasting friendship which remained even after divorce. Lynn had a true caregiver’s heart. She greatly enjoyed staying at home and being there for her 3 girls whether that was cooking, sewing or anything in between. As an empty nester, Lynn found her purpose again in her work as retail manager for Target. She had a great sense of humor, and you could always count on a sarcastic remark. As a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she will be deeply missed, but we know that she is in a better place now.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ezra and Gertrude (Daniels) Hiland; close friend and ex-husband, John Moffett; brothers and sisters, Pat Hiland, Carl Hiland, Ottis Hiland and wife, Linda, Cecil Hiland, Louise Lorde; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jimmy Doss, Doug Dawson, Esther Moffett, Bill Moffett and wife, Maurdine, Lilly Padgett, Budy Moffett, Al Moffett.

Survivors include her daughters, Stacy Wukasch and husband, Louis, Johnna Moffett, Kendra Moffett; sisters, Frances Doss, Jeanette Haynes and husband, Steve; brother-in-law, Russell Padgett; sisters-in-law, Sonja Dawson, Donna Moffett; grandchildren, Lacie, Alexis, Hannah, Kevin, Alanna, Laylah; great grandchildren, Poppy and Coco; many nieces and nephews.

A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
