SANTA FE – Miss Maevri Rhea Minks-Galloway passed away on May 22, 2026, in Galveston.

Maevri was strong, beautiful, and deeply loved from the moment we saw those two pink lines. From the very beginning, she showed us what it meant to fight with courage and grace. She made possible a journey we once thought could never happen, becoming our greatest blessing and a miracle beyond words.

Though her time here was brief, the two miraculous hours she gave us will be cherished forever. In that short time, she filled our hearts with more love than we ever knew possible. Even from the womb, Maevri touched the lives of so many people, and her story will continue to inspire and live on for years to come.

She was loved endlessly — from her very first heartbeat, to her first cry, to her last breath. She was surrounded by love every moment of her life. Even her fur brothers and sisters seemed to know she was special, already protective of the little girl they were waiting to meet.

We are forever blessed and honored to have known and loved Maevri Rhea. Though our arms ache to hold her, our hearts will carry her always.

Some people only dream of angels. We held one in our arms.

She was preceded in death by her uncle, Ramon Galloway, Jr.; great-grandfather, Donaciano De La Fuente; great-grandmother, Linda Noto.

Survivors include her parents, Rebecca and Annie Minks-Galloway; grandparents, Steve and Cherie Minks; great-grandfather, Jay Noto; great-grandmother, Lucy De La Fuente; great-aunt, Christine Pacheco and husband, Robert; fur babies, Cooper, CiCi, Stormy, Lou Lou, Mia, Petty and Payton.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Maxine Aguilar, Coordinator of MFM, the entire MFM team, the NICU staff, and the 3rd Floor OB team at University of Texas Medical Branch for their exceptional care, support, and compassion throughout this journey. Your dedication and kindness will always be remembered and deeply appreciated.

A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
