Margerate Joyce Landrum

HITCHCOCK - Mrs. Margerate Joyce Landrum passed from this life Tuesday morning, November 21, 2023, in Bentonville, Arkansas.

Margerate was born on July 30, 1936, in Fredericksburg. She met Joseph Landrum and, in 1971, they were married and moved to Hitchcock where they began their lives together. The couple loved traveling and enjoyed a good practical joke. Margerate loved shopping, especially antiquing. She had a tender heart for animals…she loved her own and gladly took care of the many strays in need that made their way to her home, but her true passion were her grandchildren. She loved them with all her heart. Margerate also liked playing bingo at the Santa Fe Senior Center, watching her television programs, and checking to see if she won the cash prize for Publishers Clearing House. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, W. O. and Helen Mary (Wake) Pape; husband, Joseph Monroe Landrum; stepson, Gene Ray Landrum; sisters, Anna Bell Woerner and Helen June Prade; brothers, Robert “Bobby” Pape, Tommy Franklin Pape, Harold Pape.

Survivors include her daughter, Sharon McMahan Enge and husband, Carl of Eagle Rock, Missouri; brother, David Pape and wife, Patty of Scio, Oregon; grandchildren, Alex Martinez and wife, Kimberly of Moore, Oklahoma, Brittany Fearrington and husband, J. R. of Dickinson; step-granddaughter, Carla Enge DeWitt and husband, T. J. of Rogers, Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Colton Martinez, Bennett Martinez, Nolan Fearrington.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 18, 2023, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, Texas, with Pastor Joshua McDonald officiating. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.
