Mary Fisher Obituary

Mary Louise Fisher

Mary Louise Fisher was born in Wynona, Oklahoma on August 21, 1931, the youngest child of Thomas E. and Jewel E. (Conner) Conley. She passed away November 15, 2020 in Hillcrest Medical Center after an extended illness.

She attended Wynona Schools, graduating in 1949.

She was baptized in and was a member of the Wynona First Christian Church.

Mary had been a member of the Order of Eastern Star for over 70 years, having been initiated into the Wynona Chapter shortly after her 18th birthday. It was a cherished memory as she and her Mother were initiated together.

Soon after her high school graduation she began working at the Pawhuska Shirt Factory. After marriage and moving to Midland, TX, she went to work for the Sears, Roebuck, and Co., advancing to district credit auditor. After a move to Enid, Ok she worked as the Secretary to the Principal of Enid Public Schools. After returning to Wynona, she had various jobs: managing a gas station in Pawhuska, assistant cook at Wynona Public Schools, and finally working at the receptionist at Dick Conner Correctional Center in Hominy. She retired after 19 years of service.

He favorite thing to do was cook. She loved to share her home made treats and was always happy to share recipes with everyone she met. Rarely did she go to a doctor's appointment, grocery store, or to the bank without taking something yummy to share with her friends there.

Mary and R.E. Gatewood were in Benton County, AR on October 25, 1991. He preceded her in death in September 1992.

On July 17, 2000, Mary and Paul E. Fisher were married in Coffeyville, KS. They made their home in Cleveland, OK.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Clarence, Earl, Jim, Nellie, Blanche, Tom, and Betty. She is survived by her husband Paul; her daughter and son-in-law April and Dean Todd of Cleveland, OK; beloved niece Anna Mae Brandon and her daughter Teresa Woods (Mike) of Broken Arrow, OK; great niece Dr. Barbara Hayes (Allen) of Alvin, TX; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and neighbors who she loved very much.

The family would like to thank Amber Redfearn and Tonya Nutter and their families for the love, care and support they provided. Our family is truly blessed to have had them helping Mom.
