Mary Pierce Obituary

Mrs. Mary Ann Pierce went to heaven on Monday, June 29, 2026, at her home on Lake Limestone, TX.

Mary Ann was born on June 27, 1950, at St. Mary’s in Galveston, TX. Her family lived in Dickinson, TX. She attended True Cross Catholic School from 1st through 8th grade. While there, she created everlasting friendships. Their class of 1957 attended the first True Cross alumni meeting and won the award for the class with the most attendance of all the classes. She graduated from Dickinson High School in 1968. She and her fellow classmates had a girls’ night out every month. They would pick a local restaurant and have a cool fellowship; most restaurants put them in a corner because they are so loud. They have had a great time over the past 50 years and shared so much love.

Mary Ann had several jobs: at NASA, a secretary for a carpenter in Dickinson, but when the kids started school, she got a job in the front office of Santa Fe Junior High. She was the 2nd mom to over 700 students. She loved it, and they loved her. When questioned about how much lunch money she gave out a day, she would say not that much. And when reminded that the school didn’t pay that well, she would just give that look.

Mary Ann was a very devoted Christian. She had 2 churches she attended, The Family Worship Center in Santa Fe and Central Baptist in Thornton. Both churches have been a big blessing in her life. She loved everyone at both churches.

Mary Ann retired after 15 years at Santa Fe ISD to help take care of her grandchildren. First was Kylie, then Callen, and last Dayton. She so loved those years as they grew up and started school.

Mary Ann loved to travel; we ventured to over 50 different locations in the US, Canada, and Mexico. But the very best was our trip to Israel, the promised land; to walk in Jesus ' footsteps was amazing, plus all the good friends that were with us were a true blessing.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Peter Emmite, and brother, Christopher Dwayne Emmite.

Survivors include her husband, Gary; son, Travis Pierce and wife, Shannon; daughter, Stacie Ray and husband, Larry; grandchildren, Dayton Pierce, Kylie and Callen Ray; mother, Lena Rose Emmite; sister, Nancy; brother, Joe; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and so many loving friends.
