Mary Simon

SANTA FE – Mrs. Mary Simon passed from this life Sunday afternoon, August 28, 2022, in Santa Fe.

     Mary was born December 21, 1939, in Texas City. She worked as an administrator for UTMB before finding the love of her life, Vernald. In 1964 they were married, and she found her purpose in being a housewife. Mary enjoyed her solitude especially when she was watching her true crime and drama TV shows. She was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic church for 44 years and liked to help with H.I.S. Ministries when she could.  

     She was preceded in death by her mother, Sadie Vasquez and several brothers and sisters. Mary is survived by her husband of 58 years, Vernald Simon; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

     Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:30 a.m. Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with a Rosary at 11:30 a.m. recited by Mr. Don LeCompte, followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. with Father David Harris, Celebrant.  Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
