Melissa "Missy" Gail Helton

HOUSTON - Ms. Melissa “Missy” Gail Helton passed away at the age of 43 on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, in Houston.

Born April 13, 1982, in Pasadena, Texas, Ms. Helton had spent a number of years in West Virginia, she returned home to Houston these past 15 years. Her passion for music and her bold, eclectic style made her unforgettable to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her uncle, Robert Vaughn.

Survivors include her parents, John Helton and Gail Vaughn; brother Sean Vaughn and wife, Tiffani of Indiana; sister, Kelly Kinder and husband, John of Baytown; nieces, Lillian Kinder, Addison Kinder, Wrenlee Vaughn, Amberlynn Vaughn; nephew, Josh Kinder and wife, Julia and their son, John.

Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX, with Mr. John Kinder officiating. Interment will follow at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Oliver Cart, Michael Dickman, Brandin Vaughn, Justin Vaughn, Logan Vaughn and Steve Vaughn. Honorary bearers will be Charles Dunn and Ken Gruben.
