SANTA FE - Mr. Oscar E. Lester, Jr. of Santa Fe passed passed away on February 23, 2022.

Oscar was born in Galveston to Mary Louise Grigar-Lester and Oscar E. Lester, Sr. on August 31, 1940. He was a graduate of Ball High School and St. Edwards University. He worked in the aerospace industry until he retired.

Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 59 years, Shirley Dannar Lester; his children, Tammy Lynn Byrns, Oscar John Lester and wife, Susan, Clint Roy Lester; sisters, Mary Lou Gomez and husband, Daniel, Agnes Mosely; grandchildren, Chelsea Hall, B.J. Byrns, Leah Byrns, Mark Byrns, Clint Edward Lester, Kailey Lester, Cassidy Lester, Ashton Delany; great grandchildren, Donovan, Zachary, Jayden, Dallas and Caleb Byrns, Zoe Pena, Natalie and Noah Jaramillo, Harley Hall, Reagan and Noah Byrns.

Visitation with the family will be from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, February 27, 2022 in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501.

A private graveside service will be held under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
