Pamela Jean Evans

SANTA FE - Mrs. Pamela Jean Evans passed away from this life on Sunday morning, June 2nd, 2024, in Santa Fe.

Pamela was born August 11th, 1961, in Texas City. She was such a joy to be around. Her infectious smile and fun personality lit up a room. Pamela was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend. She always would give the shirt off of her back so those around her wouldn't do without. She was a very successful business woman. For 19 years, she worked as a real estate agent, and 5 years ago she obtained her real estate broker license. From there, she built her very own real estate company from the ground up. She loved every minute of it and went above and beyond for all of her clients. She served 25 years as a Board of Director for the Galveston County Fair and Rodeo and 11 years as the Chairman for the Hospitality Committee.

Pamela never skipped a beat while battling endometrial cancer. She continued to work, spent time with family and friends until finally succumbing to the disease when it reared its ugly head a second time at Stage 4. May her legacy of love, selflessness, hard work ethic, and faith in God continue to inspire us and shine down from Heaven.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Carol Smith, Bill Miller, and her fur-baby, Maddee.

Survivors include her loving husband, Jim Evans; her sons, Jason Cox, Brian Cox, and Brandon Cox; daughter's and their significant others, Diana and Josh Calhoun, Candace Elgin and Drew Avants; 18 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2024, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Jason Cox, Brian Cox, Brandon Cox, Drew Avants, Josh Calhoun, and Errol Steele-Jones.

Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501.

Reception will be held at the Galveston County Fairground Ed Pickett Hall.
