Patricia "Patty" Schexnaider Obituary

ALVIN – Patricia “Patty” Ann Schexnaider, a longtime resident of Alvin and Hitchcock, died February 8, 2026, in Alvin, Texas. She was born Patricia Caballero on September 2, 1940, in Galveston, where she grew up.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Valerio and Josephine (Mamola) Caballero.

She is survived by her husband Wilton Lee Schexnaider Sr., they had been married for 62 years. She is also survived by sons Wilton Lee Schexnaider Jr. and his fiancée Corrine Graney both of League City, Patrick Ray Schexnaider and wife Kimberly Schexnaider both of Alvin, brother Ray Caballero and his fiancée Debra Mumford both of Galveston, sister-in-law Susie Schexnaider of Hitchcock, grandchildren Ian James Schexnaider, Emily Schexnaider, Ryan Lee Schexnaider, and Hannah DuBose, great-granddaughter Hayden Mann, cousins Walter Andrew Taylor and his wife Mary Ann of Texas City and Shirley Caballero of Florida, nephews Michael Lopez, Rick Lopez, and Frank Lopez, nieces Debbie Bobo and Deana Mason.

Before retirement, she owned Patty’s Photography Studio in Hitchcock and was the office manager at Bayou Haven RV Park in Galveston. She also was a freelance newspaper photographer for The Bulletin in Santa Fe and The Galveston County Daily News. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Pallbearers will be Ian Schexnaider, Emily Schexnaider, Ryan Schexnaider, Michael Lopez, Rick Lopez and Gary Cagle. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Caballero, Walter Andrew Taylor, Frank Lopez and Hannah DuBose.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501, with Deacon Alvin Lovelady officiating. Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. Friday at Hayes Funeral Home, February 13, 2026, with a Roman Catholic rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m., recited by Mr. Don LeCompte.
