Paula B. (Wells) Hinkson

LA MARQUE – Mrs. Paula (Wells) Hinkson passed away at the age of 71 on Saturday morning, January 3, 2026, in La Marque, Texas.

Born May 14, 1954, in Washington, DC, she worked as a cafeteria worker at Liberty High School for 12 years, where she was a familiar and caring presence to both students and staff. Outside of work, she enjoyed going on cruises and loved reading, often finding comfort and joy in books. Above all else, she was a devoted mother of 6, who took loving care of her daughter, Amanda, and dedicated herself to her well-being.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ava (Perry) Wells.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Dudley Hinkson; sons, James Buchanan and wife, Haley of Crosby, Steven Buchanan of Bastrop; daughters, Connie Manriquez of Arlington, Stephanie Wiley and husband, Wendell of La Marque, Karen Zarbolias and husband, Jon of Missoula, Montana, Amanda Hinkson of La Marque; brothers, James Wells and wife, Deborah of League City, Fred Wells and wife, Jennifer of Missouri City; sister, Lisa Benavides and husband, Al of Conroe; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery, with Reverend Shannon Breaux officiating.

Visitation with the family will be from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2026, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501
