Mrs. Paula Jo Hogue

October 23, 1951 ~ April 13, 2026

SANTA FE – Mrs. Paula Jo Hogue, 74, passed away April 13, 2026, in Houston. She was born October 23, 1951, in Galveston, Texas to Alfred Paul and Alice Frances (Arnold) David.

A lifelong resident of Santa Fe, Paula worked for many years as a billing clerk for the City of Bayou Vista, where she was known for her dedication and friendly spirit. She was a proud member of FOE Aerie 3789 and cherished the friendships she built there.

Paula enjoyed cook-offs and in her free time, loved visiting casinos and trying her luck at gambling, taking relaxing drives through the Texas Hill Country, watching NASCAR and cheering on her favorite sports team.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Arthur “Art” Hogue. Survivors include her son, Steven Skillman; daughters, Stacy Wooley, Summer Merino and husband, Ashton; sister, Kathryn Galena; grandchildren, Marcus Yauger, Stephanie Skillman, James Howell, Brittany Wooley, Jake Barker, Ayden Merino, Faith Merino and Luke Merino.

A celebration of Paula’s life will be held Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at Bayou Vista MUD #12, 2929 Highway 6, Bayou Vista, Texas 77563. A special video will be shared at 3:00 p.m. in remembrance of Paula. Flowers may be sent to service location.
