Peggy Janice Kennedy
SANTA FE - Mrs. Peggy Janice Kennedy passed from this life Monday morning, November 29, 2021, in Santa Fe.
Born December 4, 1938 in Oklahoma City, Mrs. Kennedy had been a resident of Santa Fe for 23 years, previously of Pasadena and Oklahoma City. She attended New Beginnings Church in League City, where she worked in the nursery. Peggy, known as “MeMaw” MemMaw Extraordinair, had a very caring and giving heart, which showed through her work and volunteering. She was a WSI instructor with the Red Cross, former youth pastor in Bristow, Oklahoma, former Deacon at First Christian Church in Pasadena, an LVN and a caregiver for her mother and grandmother for 12 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Christopherr and Janice Helen (Williams) Roach; husband, Thurman Kennedy.
Survivors include her children, Judith Christine Elliott and husband, Brad of Roanoke, Virginia, Jane Ann Harrison and husband, Brett of Santa Fe, Joe William Kennedy of La Porte; grandchildren, Emily Christine Elliott, Jonathan Brett Harrison, Christopher Brett Harrison and wife, Nicole, Caleb Brett Harrison and wife, Catherine, Benjamin Brett Harrison, Katherine Ann Harrison, Christine Ann Harrison, Elizabeth Ann Harrison, Joe William Kennedy, Jr. and wife, Syndey, Sarah Michelle Melvin and husband, Joshua, Bradley Stephen Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Daisy, Aiden, Payton, Aspen, Owen, Evelyn, Ian, Maggie, Rowan, Matthew and Charlotte Melvin.
A private burial was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
