LEAGUE CITY - Mr. Richard Anthony Patterson, Jr. passed from this life Monday, August 28, 2023, in Houston.

Richie was born July 14, 1985, in Galveston as the first born to Richard and Kimberly (Morgan) Patterson. As the oldest of three boys and two girls, Richie took it upon himself to help watch and care for his younger siblings. Something which created a special bond between them all. He had an adventurous streak which led to many shenanigans but for the most part, Richie was a sweet and caring young boy. He grew up going to First Baptist Church of Arcadia which helped lay the foundation of his unwavering morals. He was thoughtful – always making those feel special for any celebration, sharp – taking the time to remember everyone’s life story and situation, responsible – working hard for 20 years with his Arlan’s Supermarket family but above all he was the family anchor. Leading by example with compassion and love for all he met. Richie loved playing video games, riding motorcycles and fixing cars and being the coolest uncle ever. He made his parents proud, brothers and sister loved, and friends feel special. Richie’s strong character will remain as an inspiration for us to do good in this world because even one smile can make a difference.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Harbert Patterson; grandparents, Darrel and Betty Joyce Morgan, Sr.; aunt, Bonnie Patterson.

Survivors include his parents, Richard and Kimberly Patterson; grandmother, Patsy Patterson; brothers, Morgan Patterson, Michael Patterson and wife, Marah; sisters, Christine Patterson, Amber “P-nut” Lavergne; nephews, Porter Patterson, Donatello Patterson; uncles and aunts, Darrel Morgan, Jr., Kathryn Morgan, Danna Rives, Ronnie Moore; cousins, Lacey Burge, Tyler Patterson, Amber McKay, Reagan Moore, Ryan Moore, Allie Moore, Nicole Morgan, Kayla Morgan, Scott McCracken, Chris McCracken; best friend, Cody Burris and the entire Arlan’s family.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 1, 2023, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with Pastor Josh McDonald officiating.  Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Cody Burris, Angel Flores, Arturo Flores, Giann Carlo Flores, Reagan Moore and Ryan Moore. Honorary bearers will be Donatello Patterson and Porter Patterson.
