Richard Walston Obituary

Richard William “Rooster” Walston

ALVIN - Mr. Richard William “Rooster” Walston passed from this life Sunday afternoon, March 7, 2021, in Pasadena.

Richard, known by all as Rooster, was born in Galveston on June 1, 1955. The outdoors was like a second home to him. He loved going saltwater fishing especially with his brother and sons. He also shared his love for the outdoors with his sons through hunting. He enjoyed traveling to his deer lease in the winters and getting the chance to score a 10-point buck. Regardless of the activity, Rooster enjoyed nature and all it had to offer. He had a great foundation in faith and was a long-time member of the Pentecostals of Santa Fe. Rooster was an avid fan of UT football and watched their games any chance he could. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed until we can see him again one day.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Edward and Lois Virginia (Cole) Walston.

Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 42 years, Janee Walston; sons, Chris Walston and wife, Clarissa, Mike Walston and wife, Rita; brothers, Mark Beers and wife, Nancy, John Walston and wife, Pam; sister, Myra Smith and husband, Ray; grandchildren, Alex, Michael, Jordan, Peyton, and one on the way, Gabrielle, Brooke-lynn; fur babies, KK and Bobo numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2021, at Pentecostals of Santa Fe Church, with Reverend Joe Shaw officiating. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Joe Castorina, Jr., Joseph Pavlovsky, Alex Ortega, Michael Ortega, Jordan Ortega, Joe Shaw, Jr. Mark Walston, Matt Mattison. Honorary bearers Chris Peters and Ryan Haselden.
