LA MARQUE - Robert Michael Alonzo passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, in Texas City.


He was born on January 15, 1934, in Rosenberg, Texas to Encarnacion Alonzo and Trini Gonzales. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1954 and is a Veteran of the Korean War. A longtime resident of Galveston, he dedicated many years as a barber at Razors Edge barber shop, where he was known not only for his craft but also for the friendships he built. Robert had a joyful spirit, a gift for making people laugh and a deep love for sharing the word of God with others. He was happiest when he was outdoors and could often be found fishing- always fishing whenever he had the chance.


He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; children; many grandchildren and great- grandchildren, all of whom he adored. Robert’s faith, kindness, and humor touched countless lives. He will be remembered with deep love and will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.


Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 29,2025 at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery, 10708 Highway 6, Hitchcock, Texas.
