Robert Charles Meiresonne passed away at the age of 72 on April 17, 2026, in Clear Lake.
Robert was born on October 14, 1953, in Davenport, Iowa. In the late 1970’s, he began working for Champion Elevators where he met Shirley in 1980 and the two were married in 1985 until her passing in 2015. In the early 1990’s Robert had the opportunity to move to Texas to work for Alimak Hek Elevators (formerly Champion Elevators). Robert loved to spend time with his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bird watching. He tracked the moon cycles and always took pictures of them. He was there if you needed a helping hand or discussion of current affairs – something he enjoyed keeping up with in his retirement. In the last years, you could find Robert at Red Cap Café several times a week eating his meals and spending time with friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Camiel and Mary Jane (Grotjan) Meiresonne and wife, Shirley Meiresonne.
Survivors include his daughter, Tracy Kajdacsi and husband, Frank; brother, Paul Meiresonne and wife, Lori; sisters, Karen Smeltzer and husband, Chuck, Maria Bryant and husband, Steve, Jane Epping and husband, Ken; grandchildren, Brittney and Amber Kajdacsi.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2026, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with Deacon Alvin Lovelady officiating.
