Robert W. Patterson, Jr.

SANTA FE – Robert Wolcott Patterson, Jr., of Santa Fe, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on January 30, 2024. He was born January 5, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, to Mary and RW Patterson Sr. The family moved to Texas the following year and in 1959, he graduated from Texas City High School and worked at Patterson Plumbing until becoming a pipefitter for Union Carbide where he retired.

He is survived by Sarah Patterson, his wife of 62 years; son, Michael Patterson; granddaughter, Cheyanne; son, and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Maria Patterson; sister, Katherine Coutorie; sister-in-law, Desiree Patterson; and family members, Rosemary Maniscalco and Howard Stoneking, Vince and Debbie Maniscalco, Rebecca and Bobby Wright; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, James Patterson; in-laws, Williemae and Johnny Maniscalco.

Robert spent a lifetime enjoying the outdoors as an avid hunter and fisherman, and as a Master Naturalist with his wife. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 10393, and proudly served as a Sergeant E-5 in the United States Marine Corps Reserve.

A Mass will be celebrated in his honor on Monday, February 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Hitchcock with the Reverend Dominic Pistone, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Alta Loma Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church prior to Mass beginning at 10:00 am, ending with a recitation of the Rosary.

Pallbearers are Michael Patterson, Kevin Patterson, Neal LaCroix, Kenny Howard, Howard Stoneking, Vince Maniscalco. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Thompson, Robert Wright, Louis Cascarelli, Bobby Wright, and members of the Knights of Columbus 10393.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in the form of donations to the Knights of Columbus 10393, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, or the charity of choice.
