Bob was born March 27, 1941, to James and Faye (Boswell) Smith. He attended Texas Tech University where he excelled in athletics as the captain of the swim team. He met the love of his life, Samye (Goodson), on campus. Upon meeting his beautiful bride and loving wife, Bob returned to his dorm room and told his roommate, “Today I met the girl I'm going to marry.” Together they traveled America, with particular fondness for Colorado and all National Parks; opened and worked alongside one another in many businesses; and danced to Zydeco music all across Louisiana and Texas
Bob was the proud owner and operator of his plant nursery, Smith Nursery, in Liverpool for 56 years; and his legacy of hard work, integrity, and beautiful plants and flowers will continue on there. He was an avid fisherman, a skilled photographer, and a devoted Christian. He was a founding member of Living Stones Church (LS Church) and had been a faithful member since then. Bob was a good man, loving husband and father, beloved member of the community; and he will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bruce Smith; and brothers-in-law, Don Bateman and Mike Walker.
