SANTA FE – Mr. Robert Wayne Jackson passed away at the age of 61 on Thursday, February 20, 2025, in Houston.
Born March 9, 1963, in Crossett, Arkansas, Robert, moved to Santa Fe, TX at the age of 18 where he decided to make his home. Robert worked as a manual machinist for over 35 years he was always a hard worker and strived to be the best in his field.
Roberts greatest passion was his family, he never missed an opportunity to spend time with them. His boys were his world whatever his kids were into he always showed up and was always involved he was a great dad. His grandchildren meant everything to him whether it be watching Kodi at her first rodeo, the daily facetimes with Weston and weekly calls with Maci he loved every minute of it. He was very proud to be known as the #1 son in law.
Roberts favorite pass time was riding his bike with his wife, Shardale. When he wasn’t riding his Harley, he loved getting dirty in the mud on his four-wheeler or sitting in a deer stand waiting on the perfect buck with his cousin, Mikey.
Robert spent a lot of his time hanging with his friends that became family to him whether it be sitting on the back porch or at their favorite haunts, he was the guy who made everyone laugh, the one you could count on for a good time and a great story. He had lots of quirky sayings like “Whatever blows your skirt up”, “I was doing alright but I got over it” or “I’m deaf in one ear and can’t hear out the other.”
He was preceded in death by his father, William “Sonny” Jackson; mother, Mary “Ellen” Jackson; sister, Debra Kay Slaughter; brothers, Walter Woodrow Jackson, James Wesley Jackson; father-in-law, Claude Bradley; mother of his children, Jamie Chesshir Turner; best friend, Hal Chesshir.
Survivors include his wife, Shardale Jackson; sons, Robert Blake Jackson and wife, Kandice, James Dillon Jackson, Travis Villarreal; brother, William Jackson and wife, Deenie; sisters, Janice Evans and husband, Mike, Carolyn Reeves and husband, Charles; grandchildren, Kodi Blake Jackson, Weston Lane Villarreal, Maci Marie Villarreal.
Visitation with the family will be from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 3:00, Saturday, March 1, 2025, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, Texas, with Brother Murphey officiating. There will be a Celebration of Robert’s Life at Santa Fe Driftwood, 12605 Highway 6 immediately following the reception dinner.
