Rogerio “Roy” Castillo

SANTA FE - Mr. Rogerio “Roy” Castillo passed from this life Thursday morning, February 10, 2022, in Santa Fe.

Roy was born November 17, 1937, in Matamoros, Mexico. He was a man full of laughter and smiles. He loved to dance and play with his grandchildren any time he could. He worked for GCA Plant for 19 years before retiring. During each of those years he enjoyed the GCA Cook Off. Roy was an avid cook and every weekend you could find him behind a grill. He loved getting together with the family and Bar-B-Qing. During retirement, Roy took on jobs at Baywood and Arlans grocery store in the produce area. He and his wife, Olivia, shared 48 wonderful years together and he will be greatly missed not only by her but his family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roberto Sandejas and Angelita Castillo, daughter, Victoria Reckitt.

Survivors include his loving wife, Olivia Castillo; son, Roberto Castillo and wife, Jennifer; daughter, Carmen Guerra and husband, Juan; brother, Jose Angel Ayala; sisters, Yolanda Reyna and husband, Beto, Maria Luisa Galvan; grandchildren, Monica Guerra, Rogelio Castillo, Marissa Reckitt, Alex Guerra, Gabby Guerra, Josie Guerra, Robert W. Castillo, Isabella Castillo; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 2022, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501, with Dr. James Ross officiating. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Rogelio Castillo, Roberto Castillo, Patrick Fernandez, Tyler Hayes, Juan A. Guerra and Juan T. Guerra.
