Roma Wilkirson Geesing, 87, of Santa Fe, Texas, passed away on January 17, 2026.
Roma was born on March 9, 1938, in Tankersly, Texas, to Oscar and Dorothy Wilkirson. She grew up in Brady and San Antonio before moving to Houston, where she married Donald Geesing. The couple settled in Santa Fe (Alta Loma) in 1969, building their home and raising three sons. Roma and Donald were active and devoted parents, serving as scout leaders and supporting their sons in all their activities.
Roma devoted her life to nurturing children. She spent many years as a preschool teacher and day‑care worker and later opened a registered child‑care program in her home, where she welcomed little ones with the same love, patience, and kindness she shared with her own family. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, her parents, three brothers, and one sister.
Roma is survived by her sons, Russell and wife, Beth of Bullard, Texas, Ronald and wife, Julie of Taylor Lake Village, Texas, and Jimmy and wife, Sheila of Santa Fe, Texas; as well as seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and by her sister, Linda Wilkirson McIntire of Santa Fe, Texas.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Linda for her loving care and devoted support during the last months of Roma’s life.
