Ronald Owlen Davis

HITCHCOCK - Mr. Ronald Owlen Davis passed from this life Monday evening, February 5, 2024, in Galveston.

After his service in the Marines, he began his real estate career with the Galveston County Appraisal District as an FHA Appraiser.  In 1974, he and wife, Wilma Jean Davis, moved to Pasadena, where he began working for the City of Pasadena Appraisal District.  In 1980, he started his own residential appraisal business, Davis & Company Appraisers, 

Ron met his second wife, Denise Thompson, in 1985, and she was the "office manager" for his business.  She predeceased him in 2021.

Ron grew up in Hitchcock, TX, spending many wonderful summers at his Grandparents' property in East Texas, where he learned to hunt and fish.  Fishing became a lifelong activity he enjoyed, spending many hours in Galveston Bay and the Gulf with friends.  He was also an avid skier, making many trips to Colorado, New Mexico, and Montana ski areas with family and friends.  He was still working in his appraisal business at the time of his passing. 

He is survived by his first wife, Wilma Davis; his children, Stacey Davis and Erin Thompson; his grandchildren, Addison, Aria, and Sterling.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at the Galveston County Fair and Rodeo grounds on Sunday, February 18, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.  Light snacks will be served.
