Ronny Dale Giles

SANTA FE – Mr. Ronny Dale Giles passed peacefully at home on Thursday, October 10, 2024, in Santa Fe. He was 64 years old.

Ronny was born January 23, 1960, in Texas City, and moved to Santa Fe with his family in 1968. He attended and graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1978. He had a lifelong passion of repairing engines that began at the age of 8, working at the family-owned NAPA stores as a floor sweeper. He continued to work with his family from 1968-2001. He also worked for several years at Hayes Funeral Home as an assistant. In 2002, Ronny opened Giles Small Engine Repair where he worked alongside his wife repairing and selling mowers and other small engines. When he wasn’t busy working, Ronny enjoyed doing things on his property, collecting guns and riding his motorcycle.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Cathy Giles; parents, Jimmy and Sammy Giles; sons, Jeremy D. Giles (Sunny), Derrick Giles (Richard Brooks); stepdaughter, Sara Gracia (Kymberly Estrada); sister, Kelley Giles; grandchildren, Peyton Giles, Jaxon Giles, Samantha Brooks and numerous other family and friends.

A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
