Sandra Lynn (Short) Farina Obituary

Sandra Farina, born September 26, 1949, in Galveston, passed away on June 29, 2026, in Santa Fe at the age of 76, with her husband by her side.


After many years of service, Sandy retired from Piling, Inc., located in Texas City, where her kindness and hard work left a lasting impression on her coworkers.


She enjoyed gathering at the local winery with her friends and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Madeline Short (Sanne), and twin sister, Barbie McCord.


Survivors include her husband, Salvadore “Buddy” Farina; sons, Mike Morton and wife, Christine, Keith Waggoner and wife, Brooke; daughter, Sherry Shultz and husband, Doug; brother, Richard Short; grandchildren, Ella, Jordan, Braeden, Avery, and Samantha; great-grandchild, Trace; fur babies, Boo, Sissy, and Maggie.


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with Reverend Sam Hernandez officiating.  Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery.


Pallbearers will be Jordan Waggoner, Braeden Waggoner, Rob Harrison, Doug Shultz, Joey Farina, Darion Farina.


The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Daniel Piazza, DO, and the staff at Northstar Hospice for their compassion and care.
