HITCHCOCK - Mrs. Sheila Marie Gale passed from this life Sunday morning, December 11, 2022, in Houston.

Sheila was born March 26, 1978 in Wayne, Michigan - 5 minutes after her twin, Shelley. Sheila had a gentle personality which was the perfect fit for her career. After graduating high school, she earned her medical assistant certification from Ross School of Medicine and began working at nursing homes, then at University Of Michigan Cancer Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan for 7 years. Caring for others was second nature to her. Not long after moving to Texas, Sheila joined The Birthday Joy Program and became a sponsor for foster children in Galveston County. She set a wonderful example for her own children, whom she loved and adored. Texas brought her love, too, when she met her husband, Michael Gale. Sheila's one indulgence was music concerts, especially country music. She loved anything from Alexandra Kay to Walker Hayes. Sheila will be deeply missed but we know that her love and compassion lives on through the lives she has touched.

She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Carolyn Rubin and Beverly DeFranceschi; aunt, Jan Mayville.

Survivors include her loving husband, Michael Gale; mother and step-father, Mimi DeFranceschi and Jerry Judkins; father and step-mother, Bill and Jill Underwood; children, Jocelyn, Jamison, Julien, Jonathan, Jordan; bonus kids, Emily, Michael, Mason, Landon, Lakota, Levi; twin sister, Shelley Plescia and husband, David; grandfathers, Delano Underwood and Richard DeFranceschi; grandson, Liam.

Visitation with the family will be 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2022, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials in the form of donations may be made in Sheila’s name to Birthday Joy Program, 200 Houston Avenue, Suite D, League City, Texas 77573.
