Shelley Bishop Obituary

SANTA FE - Shelley Elizabeth Bishop, a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt passed away peacefully at her home in Santa Fe, Texas surrounded by family on August 20, 2024, at the age of 55. Shelley was a great storyteller, loving, caring, thoughtful, supportive, selfless, talented, an amazing, precious woman who will be greatly missed by all who have had the pleasure to meet and get to know her. She lived her life to the fullest and made some wonderful memories for which we are very grateful. We were all blessed to have her in our lives. God was calling for her to be closer to him and she is now in heaven with Jesus as her Lord and Savior.

Shelley was born on December 25, 1968. the daughter of Sharon Pennington and Ervin “Wayne” Pennington. She attended Deer Park High School and graduated in 1987. In 1994, Shelley met the love of her life David Bishop. They were married on January 30, 1995, in Lake Tahoe, Nevada and were married for twenty-nine beautiful years. She loved David and would talk about all his accomplishments both at home and work. Together they have three children, (Jacob -23, Sasha-20, and Shane-20). She was very proud of her children and loved them very much. She would do anything for them.

Shelley enjoyed traveling, wineries, thrifting, and antiquing. She was also an avid reader. Shelley was a great friend and she always looked forward to her “girls’ weekends” with her twin mom best friends. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved the mornings when she was able to get together with her “breakfast bunch”. Most importantly, everyone would always be greeted by her friendly smile and a warm hug.

Shelley is survived by her loving husband, David Bishop; three children, Jacob, Sasha, and Shane; her sister, Jennifer Pennington; niece, Ireland Pennington; brother, Shawn Pennington and nephew, Scotty; uncle, Chuck Schuessler and wife, Lisa; mother-in law, Dorothy “Dottie” Bishop; sister-in-law, Cindy Bishop and nephews, Nathaniel and Nicholas; brother-in-law, Randy Bishop and wife, Laura, and nephews, Zachary and Austin.
