Shirley Ann Haney

SANTA FE – Mrs. Shirley Ann Haney “Gmaw” passed away at the age of 86 on Friday, December 6, 2024, in Texas City.

Born March 28, 1938, in Nashville, Mrs. Haney attended Arcadia Christian Church. Shirley was the office manager at Santa Fe Animal Hospital and groomed the animals, volunteered for HIS Ministries, and helped with the voting at the poles. She actively contributed to their community, offering her time and talents to those in need and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Rilla Echols, Sr.; son, Jerry Wayne Haney, Troy David Haney; brothers, Jim Echols, Ronny Echols.

Survivors include her loving husband of over 67 years, George “Dugan” Haney, Jr.; sons, George M. “Duke” Haney, III and Madie Thomas of Alvin, Darrel Haney of League City, Kevin Haney of Bayou Vista; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 21, 2024, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, Texas, with Mr. Marty Adams officiating.
