HOUSTON - Shirley Ann Kinney, 77, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 23, 2023. She was surrounded by family and loved ones when she made her final journey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Clyde Findley and Hicks B. Findley, and sister, Mae White.  She leaves behind her loving husband of 56 years, Ronald Kinney, brothers, Robert, Paul and Rothel Findley, and sister, Mary Elizabeth Bryant. Shirley is survived by her three children, Rhonda (Greg) Reeves, Charlotte Kinney, and Tyler (Jen) Kinney as well as her devoted grandchildren, Julia, Sasha, Ally, Kyle and Cody Reeves and Devon and Zane Arzola and Logan and Emma Kinney.

Shirley was born in Red Level, Alabama and moved to Houston, Texas with her sisters when she was 18. She was quickly employed at Texas Instruments and shortly later met the love of her life, Ronald F. Kinney in Houston.  Ronald and Shirley married on April 29, 1967, started a family, and built a life in Katy, Texas. Shirley spent most of her life as a housewife and mother but had various careers in her lifetime. She spent much of her professional career in design and the importation of antiques. Through this career, she traveled to foreign countries and purchased antiques.  Later in her life, she moved back to Houston where they attended Bethel Independent Presbyterian Church and made many friends and spent time in fellowship.

Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2023, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501, with Pastor Marty Adams officiating.  Interment will follow at Alta Loma Cemetery.  Please join the family in a time of celebrating Shirley’s life after the interment at Arcadia Christian Church, in the fellowship hall, 14201 Beriton St, Santa Fe, TX.
