SANTA FE - Mr. Sonny Hultquist passed from this life Sunday, November 19, 2023, in Santa Fe.

Born April 27, 1945, in Alvin, Sonny had been a lifelong resident of Santa Fe. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Sonny worked as in special services for GTE for 25 years. He attended Saltgrass Cowboy Church and was a member of the American Legion, Post Colonel B. Moore in Texas City and the VFW Post #5400. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed dove hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Douglas and Helen Lanelle (Springer) Hultquist, Sr.; brother, Edward “Buster” Hultquist, Jr.; brothers-in-law, Huey Parkman and Leonard Magnuson.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Sandy Hultquist; son, Terry Scott Hultquist and wife, Donna Lynn; sisters, Bobbie Parkman, Joyce Magnuson; grandchildren, Kandis and Danny Dennis, Sonny and Michael Boatman, Noah and Madison Hultquist; great grandchildren, Makayla, Elijah, Emmi and Elliott Dennis. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2023, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with Reverend Dale Chance officiating. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Blanchard, Robert Blanchard, Michael Boatman, Danny Dennis, Ronny Parkman and Armondo Silvas. Honorary bearer will be Mike Robinson.

Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501.
