Toy Bage Obituary

In Loving Memory of Toy Ann Bage

August 11, 1956 – May 23, 2025

Toy Ann Bage (née Brown), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on May 23, 2025, at the age of 68 after a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer.

Born in Ontario, California, on August 11, 1956, Toy spent her early years in Clear Lake Shores before moving to Santa Fe, Texas, as a teenager—a place she proudly called home for the rest of her life.

Toy was a woman of deep creativity, unwavering strength, and fierce devotion to her family. She poured her love into every detail of her life; from the way she raised her children to the way she decorated a room. For years, she ran a home daycare, nurturing countless little lives with care and patience, before following her passion as a decorator, where her natural eye for design and beauty truly shone.

She had an incredible gift for making things beautiful—whether it was a holiday table setting, a floral arrangement, or a handmade craft. Toy had a unique ability to dream up something extraordinary and then bring it to life with flawless execution. Her talents were endless, and her perfectionism was legendary—in the best way.

Toy’s love language was action. She showed up, she gave her all, and she always had a way of making people feel loved through what she did rather than what she said. She was headstrong, opinionated, and always perfectly put together. Her presence lit up every holiday, every family gathering, and every room she walked into.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Mitchell Lee Bage, Sr.; her three devoted children, Amy Michelle Windham (Christopher), Amanda Faith Rodell (Robert), and Mitchell Lee Bage, Jr. (Luis Santiago); and her cherished grandchildren, Thomas Blake Pettus (Sarah), Logan Mitchell Pettus (Ashtyn Yovan), Jackson Duane Rodell, Wyatt Alexander Pettus, Grayson Patrick Rodell, and Christopher Grant Windham. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Braelyn Wingate and Brycen Pettus.

Toy is preceded in death by her parents, Ila Mae and Allen Monroe Brown Sr., and her brother, Allen Monroe Brown Jr. She is lovingly remembered by her siblings, Shelly Detter, Tammy Veale, and Donald Brown.

Though there will be no public service, the family will be planning a private celebration of life in her honor at a later date. Flowers and donations are not necessary—those who wish to remember Toy are encouraged to create something beautiful, decorate boldly, or celebrate life in a way that would make her proud.

Toy’s memory will live on in every carefully placed Christmas ornament, every perfectly set table, and in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of creativity, care, and style will continue to inspire generations to come.
