ARCADIA - Mrs. Verva Lorene “Sally” Carroll passed from this life Tuesday evening, January 16, 2024, in Clear Lake.
Born February 3, 1940, in Arcadia, Mrs. Carroll had been a resident of Kemah for 6 months, previously of Arcadia. “Sally” achieved the honor of Salutatorian at Santa Fe High School class of 1958, showcasing her dedication and academic excellence. She was faithful member of Arcadia Christian Church, and had a special fondness for horses, was known for her love of fishing, particularly for speckled trout. These passions enriched her life and brought her joy. However, above all, “Sally” cherished her family, especially her beloved grandkids. Known affectionately as Nana, she showered them with love, wisdom, and unforgettable moments. Her warmth and kindness created a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Verva (Moore) Roberts; husband, James Madison “Clayton” Carroll; brothers, Jimmy Roberts, Johnny Roberts.
Survivors include her son, Jerry Carroll and wife, Stacey of Omega Bay; daughters, Cindy Guidos and husband, Jim of Kemah, Sandy Windham and husband, Gary of Santa Fe, Robin Loner of Houston; sister, Betty McGinnis of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Clay Guidos and wife, Carly, Justin Guidos, Cassie Loner, Cash Loner.
Memorials in the form of donations may be made in Sally’s name to American Heart Association, Post Office Box 840692, Dallas, Texas 75284-0692, or charity of your choice.
A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
