Vivian Irlas, Sr.

ALVIN - Mr. Vivian Irlas, Sr. passed from this life Tuesday morning, September 12, 2023, in Alvin.

Vivian was born in San Carlos on December 2, 1936, to Felipe and Trinidad Irlas - growing up with 8 brothers and sister. The family home was always filled with music when Vivian learned how to play the accordion. He and his brothers loved playing the guitar and accordion together. He married Julia Perez Irlas in 1956 and the two moved to Santa Fe where they both worked for SFISD. Vivian worked his way up from bus driver to maintenance supervisor in his 30-year career. He loved to go fishing in the Gulf of Mexico and travel around. He loved camping and being outdoors especially in his younger years. Vivian will be greatly missed but we know that we will see him again.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Felipe and Trinidad (Mungia-Hernandez) Irlas.

Survivors include his children, Juanita Hernandez, Alicia Quinonez, Vivian Irlas, Jr., Arturo Irlas, Joe Irlas, Erminia “Minnie” Uviedo; brothers, Juan Irlas and Crecencio Irlas; sister, Eulogia Macias; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2023, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with Pastor David Frisbey officiating.  Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jose Quinonez, Jr., Joey Quinonez, III, Isreal Telles, Juan Telles, Jr., Moses Uviedo and Moses Uviedo, Jr.

Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2023, at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501.
