Warren T. Longmire, Jr., MD touched many lives over his 93 years on this earth. Just two days after his 93rd birthday, he passed peacefully in the early morning hours of January 14, 2024. He was a dedicated son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, friend, and physician.

Born in Hearne, Texas on January 12, 1931, Warren was the oldest of Warren Longmire, Sr., and Irma Maxwell Longmire's seven children. Mack Longmire, Paul Longmire, Sarah Longmire Gutekunst, Jerry Longmire, Charles Longmire, and Lloyd Longmire all proceeded Warren to Heaven. His wife of 66 years, Theresa Marie Longmire, and his sons Thomas Longmire and Richard Longmire also proceeded him. Warren is survived by his sons Stephen Longmire, MD and James Longmire, and his daughters Marian Longmire and Lisa Osborne and husband Mark Montgomery. Warren’s grandchildren are Patrick Longmire and his wife Ariel Longmire, Sean Osborne and his wife Isabel Arras-Osborne, and Shannon Osborne. His great-grandchildren are Charlotte Longmire, Leo Osborne, and Nicolas Osborne.

Warren graduated from Woodsboro High School in 1948.  He was drafted into the Marine Corps in 1951 and served in Korea with the First Marine Division for 11 months.  Upon returning from Korea, he met fellow Marine Theresa Marie Nychko at the Marine Corp Depot in San Diego, California. They married on January 15, 1954, and returned to Houston where Warren earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Houston in 1957. He went on to attend the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and completed his Doctor of Medicine in 1963. After a year in the US Public Health Service in Staten Island, New York, Warren and his family returned to Texas. In 1972, Warren was part of the group that founded Clear Lake Hospital. He served the community of Hitchcock/Santa Fe as a family physician for over 54 years before retiring in 2018.
