SANTA FE - Mr. William Lloyd Moffett passed away from this life Sunday afternoon, November 5, 2023, in Santa Fe.

Bill was born November 5, 1942, in Dickinson to Lloyd and Esther Moffett. He married Maurdine (Hill) in 1963 and they shared 58 years together before her passing. Bill worked for HL&P, now Reliant, for over 40 years and retired as head operator. He enjoyed his leisure time through working on antique cars or watching sports. As a young man, Bill enjoyed squirrel hunting with his father but later in life, fishing became his favorite sport. He’d drop a line in anywhere. He loved his family – especially his nieces, nephews, and grandnieces… each one knows they were his favorite. Bill was a gentle soul and a good friend. We’ll miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Esther (Singleton) Moffett; wife, Maurdine Moffett; sister, Esther Myrle Moffett; brothers, Leonard Curry Moffett and Alwynn James Moffett.

Survivors include his brother, John Moffett; sisters, Lillie Virginia Padgett and husband, Russell, Sonja Marie Dawson; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Friday November 10, 2023 in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2023, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501, with Minister Ron Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Chandler, John Hill, Ronald Hill, Jason Jones, Dallas Padgett and Louis Wukasch.
