HITCHCOCK - Mr. William Claborn Turnbull passed from this life Monday, May 2, 2022, in Texas City.

Born August 20, 1955 in Mesa, Arizona, Mr. Turnbull had been a longtime resident of Hitchcock. He worked as a lawnmower repairman at Bill’s lawnmower shop for over 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, going to the beach, bar-b-que cook-offs and spending time with his family, especially his grandson, William.

William known as Wild Bill or Paw Paw to his grandson traveled back and forth for many years before settling in Galveston, Texas. He ran his own bar Marilyn’s Paladin Club in Galveston. Bill owned his own wrecker company and worked on the tug boats which he loved telling many stories about include sneaking his wife, Ann on board where he created the love of his life his daughter, Debra Ann. He finally settled in Hitchcock, Texas where he started his lawnmower repair business.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Junior and Bertha Rosetta (Allen) Turnbull; foster-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Davis; sister, Debra Ann Turnbull; brothers, Danny Allen and James Turnbull.

Survivors include his daughter Debra Herrero and husband, Gilberto (son, William, step-daughters, Ruby and Diana); brother, Ronald Turnbull and wife, Maria; half-brother, Jeffrey; sister-in-law, Audrey Allen; nephews, Brian Parrish, Jr. (children, Brian III, Brooklyn, Serenity), Charles and Amanda Rendon (children, Joshua, Dane, Robert James), Danny Allen, Jr. (daughter, Rachiel), David Allen (son, Cameron); nieces, Brandy Rendon and Robert Simons (daughter, Katelynn Rendon), Stephanie and James Novak (children, Celeste, Shelby, Isabella).

A special thank you to Brian Parrish, Jr., Brian Parrish, III, Robert Simons, Katelynn Rendon, Brandy Rendon, Jose Israel Jr. Villanueva, Carlos Herrero, Gilberto Herrero for always being there for him, taking care of him, and helping him every time he needed something.

A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501. A celebration of his life will be set at a later date.
