ALVIN - Mr. William White passed from this life Thursday afternoon, February 8, 2024, in Alvin.
William was born February 2, 1954, in Commanche, a humble town, like William himself. He was a simple hardworking man who dedicated 48 years to the Local 211 as a pipefitter. Known for his strong work ethic and respect for the union, William leaves an indelible mark on Local 211. He found joy in the little things life had to offer – like taking pride in maintaining his yard, turning it into a reflection of his diligent and caring nature. William helped to impart compassion for animals into his children. He loved caring for his indoor and farm animals. Every Christmas brought a touch of excitement as he indulged in the tradition of gambling scratch-off tickets and football held a special place in his heart, as he found joy in cheering on his favorite teams. Beyond his professional and personal interests, William was a loving father and grandfather who took the time to teach the kids the timeless skill of riding bikes, leaving a lasting impact on the generations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Pauline (Sharp) White; sister, Sue White.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie White; daughters, Wanda Harrell, Amy White, Emily White; sisters, Linda Powell, Jackie Sue Neil, Jan Knowles; brother, Jack Knowles; grandchildren, Brandon White, Zachary Schaeffer, Shaina Guzman, Aaron Hudman, Katlyn Pena, Ethan Harrell, Robert Castillo, Jake Hudman, Madison Linney; great-grandchildren, Hudson Taylor Schaeffer, Sadie Rae Schaeffer; fur baby, Macy Gray.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, Texas.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a light in Heaven’s glow.
I am a soul made white as snow.
I have been gathered as harvest grain.
I am secure from grief and pain.
No more a pilgrim; no more to roam,
I am a lamb brought safely home.
I sing praise in my Savior’s sight.
Here in a Land where there is no night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there. I did not die.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for former things are passed away. Revelation 21:4
